We love partnering and participating with community organizations focused on making a difference in the Okanagan Valley, like:
Central Okanagan Community Food Bank (COCFB) – The COCFB’s mission is to assist in alleviating chronic hunger and poverty in the Central Okanagan. Established in 1983, the COCFB, then named Kelowna Food Bank set up operation in a church basement to meet emergency food needs for the community. Over the next two decades, the Kelowna Food Bank grew from serving 600 people per year to nearly 2,500 individuals per month, with nearly a third of them children under age 16. Kelowna Community Resources – KCR acts as the gateway to community information and volunteer opportunities from Lake Country to Peachland by maintaining ‘first stop’ computer access to region-wide information about community groups, government programs and health services as well as the volunteer opportunities they offer. They also organize volunteer management and providing leadership in organizing the annual Okanagan Volunteer Opportunities Fair. Click here to learn more.
