Life is challenging. Trinity Care extends support to you through our Life Solutions classes, listed below, which can help develop the knowledge and skills you’ll need to be more effective in living your life.
Find help. Discover hope. Experience healing. You’ll find a caring group of people who will walk with you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You’ll hear practical advice that can help you heal from your separation and divorce through video teaching, group discussion and using the personal notebook guide you’ll receive. You’ll hear things that will help you put your life back together. Divorce Care runs 12 Mondays, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, January 22 to April 23. The cost is $25, payable on the first night of class by cash (exact change appreciated) or cheque made out to Trinity Church.
Please note that you must take Boundaries prior to joining this class.
Healthy relationships and sound living depend on maintaining smart personal boundaries, but many people don’t know where to start. You’ll learn to live your life more fully and display Christ’s love more freely. Each of nine sessions contains a video presentation by Drs. Cloud and Townsend. It’s the centerpiece for insights, exercises and spirited discussions that can profoundly improve the quality of your relationships in every sphere of life — marriage, family, friendships, church and the workplace. 9 weeks, January 23 to March 20.
Boundaries are personal property lines that define who you are and who you are not and influence all areas of your life. Do you struggle with saying no, not feeling guilty or worry about hurting someone? This program teaches biblically-based methods on how to set healthy limites with a parent, spouse, child, friend, co-worker and even yourself while still being a loving person. It will leave you feeling empowered without guilt or fear. 8 Tuesdays, 7pm to 8:30pm. Our next session of Boundaries begins on February 13.
If you are looking to connect with other couples and grow your marriage, join us as we gather in The Hub on Friday nights, once a month, this fall. We’ll be using the Deep Love material by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot. Here are the scheduled topics:
Personality – October 6: 6:30 to 8pm
Communication – October 27: 6:30 to 8pm
Conflict – November 24: 6:30 to 8pm
Adaptability – December 8: 6:30 to 8pm
There is no cost for these groups. Each night is a stand-alone topic. Facilitated by Pastor Brad Bender. If you already have a group of couples meeting, we can supply you with a Deep Love DVD and workbooks and you all can go at your own pace. Email Pastor Brad if you are interested.
Couples on the brink of divorce who enroll in marriage education with follow up mentoring increase their chances of staying together by 70%. Family Life Canada has created a conversational model of mentoring that is developed to inspire and equip volunteer couples who want to invest in younger couples. The 3 hour training is brief yet comprehensive. Mentors qualify not on the basis of extensive education, experience or training, but on the quality of their character and their marriage. Mentor and mentee couples are equipped with an easy to use Mentoring Conversation Guide which includes questions and exercises on 14 topics crucial for a healthy marriage. Once you are trained and have a mentee couple to mentor, both couples commit to meet a minimum of 10 times over the course of one year. Join us for the training on Sundays – January 21 and 28, 9am to 10:30am.
No one wants a shallow relationship, right? We want to sink the roots of our relationship deep into love. Deeper conversations and bonding. Deeper intimacy and passion. And that’s exactly what Deep Love can do for you—it’s for couples who want to move from broken to better as well as those moving from good to great and beyond. You are invited to Trinity church for this live video Simulcast by Drs. Les and Lesley Parrot on Friday, January 26th, 2018 from 6:15-8:30pm in the Hub. Cost: $20.00 per couple payable at the door. (Scholarships available if you can’t cover the $20.00.) Free child care for kids 4 and under is provided – please let us know if you’ll need this.
To learn more about the Parrots’ go to LesandLeslie.com and to prepare for this event take the Deep Love assessment at www.DeepLoveassessment.com. This is a unique and powerful online assessment that takes just 15 minutes to complete and costs $35.00 per couple. It generates a personalized 10 page report for couples (whether dating, engaged, or married for decades). The four sections of the report are Personality, Communication, Conflict and Adaptability. Trinity will be using these reports in our Deep Love Community groups for couples that will follow the live simulcast.
